Before the start of the Mission T20 World Cup, the Indian team has captured 2-1 in the T20 series against South Africa. Team India had already won the series but their eyes were on a clean sweep in Indore, although South Africa showed great performance in the last match and defeated India by 49 runs.
Team India, playing without Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, found it difficult to tamper with the batting order here. Batting first, South Africa scored 227 runs, giving India a target of 228 runs. But Team India got buried under the pressure of this big score and could not make a comeback in the match.
Was the change in batting heavy?
Due to the absence of Virat-Rahul, Team India made changes in its playing-11, but here the batting order had to be changed as well. Rishabh Pant came to the opening with Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer came to bat at number-3 and Dinesh Karthik came to bat at number four. And Suryakumar Yadav, who was in the form, came very late.
However, Rahul Dravid himself told that this was the last T20 match, so all the changes that could be made was this opportunity. Many players had got very less chances, in such a situation it was very important to give them more chances.
For Team India, the experiment in Indore turned out to be heavy, because Rohit Sharma could not open the account. Rishabh Pant got a good start, but he could not make a big score. Dinesh Karthik played a blistering innings of 46 runs, although he could not go beyond it.
